Large country garden in Gloucestershire

This half an acre plot included a walled garden area, remnant orchards and many mature trees. Over recent decades the gardens had been neglected and the new owners want to bring them back to life and create a suitable setting for the eighteenth century house that they have renovated. The design process started with a full tree survey and the development of a concept strategy, which identified that the garden naturally divided into a number of discreet areas, with very different characters. From this process designs were developed for a formal walled garden area, a woodland garden, a meadow garden around the orchard and an entrance garden with a new timber car port.
